Join us for our first monthly film night with celebrated Waltham filmmaker Bryan Papciak, cofounder of Handcranked Film Productions in the Waltham Mills.  "YOU-KIDS-GET-OUTTA-MY-YARD-YOU-WOULDN'T-BE-DOIN-THAT-SH*T-IF-NIXON-WAS-IN-THE-WHITEHOUSE" A series of short films exploring the idea of the idea of misbehavior. THE DOVER BOYS Chuck Jones (USA, 1942), Cartoon animation An obscure Warner Bros. cartoon in which three virtuous Collegians protect a dainty Co-ed from a nefarious "Coward-Bully-Cad-&-Thief." 6 minutes, Rated G BOWTIE DUTY FOR SQUAREHEADS Stephan Muller (Germany, 2006), Live-action College kids in Berlin have joyously anarchic fun with visual perspective and minor vandalism. Also features farting billboards. 12 minutes, Rated PG-13 PUNK ROCK GIRL Classic 1980s music video by The Dead Milkmen. "We wen to the Philly Pizza Company and ordered some hot tea. The waitress said 'well no, we only have it iced.' So we jumped up on the table and shouted 'anarchy.'" 3 minutes, Rated PG THE DEATH OF STALINISM IN BOHEMIA Jan Svankmajer (Czech Republic, 1990), Stop-motion & clay animation For more than two decades, classic surrealist Jan Svankmajer used subversive film to undermine the Communist Czech regime. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989, he was left with no authority to undermine - and this "liberation" film seems almost wistful. 10 minutes, Rated PG HE WAS ONCE Mary Hestand (USA, 1989), Live action A parody of the old "Davey & Goliath" clay animation films (with actors dressed as clay puppets), satirizing hypocritical cultural norms of 1960s middle America. 15 minutes, Rated PG-13 SON OF SATAN JJ Villard (USA, 2005), Drawn animation Based on a short story by Charles Bukowski “A raw, urgent punk scream against the pain of abuse, bullying and the cyclical nature of violence and stands firmly against those who believe that animation must be clean, precise, polished and oh so f-ing sweet.” – Chris Robinson, Animation World Magazine 10 minutes, Rated R
