An Afternoon of Chess

Join us for a day of chess in the bookstore in celebration of "Masters of Technique: Short Fiction from the World of Chess". Senior Master Denys Shmelov will be giving a 20-board simultaneous exhibition at 12:30pm, followed by a blitz tournament.

Tickets for the simul are free with the purchase of a copy of the anthology. Contact info@backpagesbooks.com to buy a book and reserve a ticket. First come, first served. Prizes to players who win or draw will be donated by Back Pages Books. Entry to the blitz tournament is free, with prizes for the tournament donated by Chess Books from Europe. Please bring sets, boards, and clocks.  If you're coming to watch, just come on down!
