Strategies for Helping Bright, Quirky, Socially Awkward Children to Thrive at Home and at School

Bright, eccentric, and often socially awkward, so-called left-brain children often have talents and inclinations that lean heavily toward the logical, linear, analytical, and introverted side of the human psyche--what is commonly referred to as the "left brain"--as opposed to the "right brain" which is our emotional, holistic, intuitive, and extroverted side. Left-brain kids are often found on the margins of the classroom and the playground, the ones who tend not to fit in with their peers but have rich interior and intellectual lives.

Join us for an evening with Dr. Katharine Beals whose research and interviews with parents and children, has led to a new understanding of left-brain kids and practical strategies for nurturing and supporting them, both at school and at home.

Great Book

In research papers I have read,left-brain children are prone to bullying and social attacks because of their timid and shy disposition but if they can only develop their social skills and emotional quotient, they will turn out and grow up to be a very well-rounded and happier individuals. This book is really engaging as it tackles this problem of having brilliant children who are to scared and shy to express themselves, speak their mind and show everyone what they're made of.

When I am not writing essay papers for school, I help my younger brother, a left-brain child, make friends and develop a knack for team sports by bringing him down the local court to play basketball with other kids. Previously so timid and shy to even go out of the house, it really warms my heart to see him having the time of his life with his friends and team mates.
